Round 2 of the Halo British Downhill Series is THIS WEEKEND kids!
What’s in store for the weekend? First up, the start list is now live on Roots and Rain and the elite field is packed. We’ve got Peaty, Beaumont, Brendog, Bryceland, Lehikoinen… and most excitingly a full compliment of the Athertons, including Dan who is now back in the saddle.
For the girls there’s the usual UK talent … joined my Madame Emeline Ragot from France who might just be in the running for the win.
Who’s up for the win?
The history books say it could be Peaty or Marc Beaumont. Steve took the win in 2010 over Marc by 0.054s but Marc is on fire at the moment and will want to take his second victory of 2011. Anyone’s guess we reckon! Check out last year’s BDS Moelfre results here.
Our poll that we’ve run on the site this week says that you lot think Gee is on for the win. He’s not raced Moelfre in years but then again he did help build it! Like we said … anyone’s guess.
How’s the weather looking? Pretty decent by the looks of it! Cut down spikes all round …
Never been to Moelfre? It’s a fast, straight, off-the-breaks affair. Lots of big jumps, big open corners and breaking bumps. Unless the BDS crew have been putting in some sneaky digging it should be pretty standard.
Goes without saying that Wideopenmag will be all over it – photo’ing, video’ing and producing a race report for the mag. We’ll also have the all new Wideopenmag race team out in force and hunting for some podiums!
