The mighty Fort William is ON! Today was day one of practice and a big, fast, loose track was laid out for the riders.
Check out the action from today, beamed straight from our man Ian Lean’s lens!
The calm before the storm – but don’t be fooled, heavy weather is coming. The whole schedule for tomorrow has been brought forward to try and get everyone down the hill before the wind and rain puts the gondola out of action. We’ll be up on the hill bright and early tomorrow morning!
Gatto – pinned on track and looking for a great result after her 4th place at last weekend’s BDS.
And it’s our boy Jay Williamson! Jay was loving life all day today. No stress, no pressure, just fun on track.
Man down. Let’s not forget that the ‘Fort is gnarly. Big rocks up top. Tight, fast and scary woods down below. Get well soon fella!
Steve Peat last won at Fort William in 2007 on an Orange – could the last race of his 39th year be another top result?
Rich T – the Weston Weapon! Rich placed 35th at Fort William two years ago and is HUNGRY for another great result. Light it up Richard!
Greg Williamson of Trek World Racing fame. Greg scored 10th place at last year’s Fort William World Cup… an incredible result for a UK young gun, destroying the times of riders years his senior. The force is very bloody strong in this one!
Sam Blenkinsop – another one not on the new Lapierre but still pinning the Fort. Timed training might not mean much in the end but Blenki scored 3rd overall today and 4th overall at last year’s Fort Bill World Cup. We’re predicting a good result for him.
Loic Bruni wasn’t on the new Lapierre, unlike his team mate Emiline Ragot. Who cares, he still was pinned everywhere on track.
Ed Masters, man of the moment, so #enduro
Bryceland didn’t get a great result in timed practice today … but definitely won practice for his massive dirty manual of the Silverline jump – holding it clean right down in to the woods.
