Rockshox Boxxer Gets the New DebonAir and Charger Treatment.

Off the back of the new Rockshox Lyrik getting new internals, the legendary BoXXer is up for the treatment with two models leading the charge.

Retaining the 35mm chassis but with all-new construction and the classic BoXXer look, the latest incarnation of this legendary fork gets a downhill-specific revamp with the new DebonAir air spring and Charger dampers.

BoXXer World Cup.

The king of downhill forks for many a moon, BoXXer World Cups invoke images of cherry red lowers and Ti Nitride gold stanchions at the front of the fastest guys and gals on the World Cup circuit.

With new air springs and dampers, the gold legs return but the stanchions are now ‘Fast Black’ as opposed to ‘Even Faster Gold’.

Big wheels are accommodated with the new production BoXXer, accepting both 27.5 and 29″ wheels, as well as Boost spacing. With this, both the uppers and lowers have been redesigned, as well as the internals getting swapped out for downhill-specific versions of the DebonAir and Charger units.

With both independent high and low speed compression as well as external early stroke rebound, the Charger 2 RC2 now offers more adjustability than ever, and should help you find the sweet spot to suit your riding style.

The new DebonAir air spring has been redesigned to reduce friction in each component to maximise bump absorption and response under load, which in turn reduces forces felt at the handlebar so you can ride longer.

Travel is available in 10mm increments from 180 to 200mm, and in both 27.5 and 29″ boost.

The new BoXXer World Cup will be available from June for £1689 RRP.

BoXXer RC.

For those looking for a slightly cheaper, lower maintenance BoXXer option, the BoXXer RC aims to tick that box.

With a self-bleeding Charger damper, it’s the only real difference between the World Cup and the RC. The same chassis and air spring, means that weight difference is negligible (1565g WC/1600g RC 27.5″), making it a better option privateer downhillers, leaving you with a few hundred quid to spare.

Travel is available in 10mm increments from 180 to 200mm, and in both 27.5 and 29″ boost.

The new BoXXer RC will be available from June for £1299 RRP.

Upgrade Kits.

As per the Lyrik launched a few weeks ago, there are DebonAir and Charger upgrade kits available for the new BoXXers, coming in at £42 and £347 respectively. The Charger dampers are backwards compatible with all 35mm BoXXers. Both will be available with the arrival of the new fork in June.
