Ladies and gents, boys and girls – time to welcome the first of two new riders to the Wideopenmag team! We’re writing this fresh from a day of smashing incredible, dusty, loose trails out in Malaga with RoostDH.
We are delighted to welcome South Wales young gun Joe Parfitt to our downhill team line up. Joe is out in Spain with us at the moment and is already blowing us away with his riding.
Joe will be racing the British Downhill Series, regional races and a few IXS races… as well as getting wild in a mountain of photo and video shoots with us all season. At the ripe old age of 14, Joe has been riding downhill for just three years but has already stacked up some awesome results. In 2013 he raced his final year in juvenile and scored podiums in all but one of his 21 races. Most importantly though, he’s a super nice kid with bags of talent and someone we want to help get faster as he steps up to the youth category.
Joe has already jumped on board his new Nukeproof Pulse and been styled out with fresh Fox racing gear and will ride alongside Rich Thomas and Jay Williamson in 2014.
Chilling at RoostHQ after an awesome day of Spanish riding Joe told us “I’m super happy to be riding for Wideopen, I’ve ridden with the guys loads in the last year and I can’t wait to go racing with them. I’m having loads of fun already, the Nukeproof bike and Fox kit are amazing”.
We’d like to give a huge thanks to everyone that has helped out Joe get to this stage, not least his old man Jeff and his previous team manager Huw Lloyd-Lewis at Swift Racing. Also a huge thanks to Nukeproof, Fox and RoostDH. Our full lineup of 2014 sponsors will be announced shortly.
Good luck Joe!
Look out for our second new rider announcement tomorrow!
