Welcome to our week of Fort William Mountain Bike World Cup content! Kicking off the week is the launch of the new 2016 Nukeproof Pulse downhill bike.

The Pulse isn’t new to anyone that races the British Downhill Series or follows the World Cups. It’s been raced for the last few months by Team Chain Reaction Cycles with some great results – including a win at Llangollen for Joe Smith. But – CRC have been pretty guarded with it all and kept the bikes away from the media.
“we’ve made the new Pulse to win as many World Cup races as we can”
Today was a chance to see the bikes up close and have a chat with the guys behind the bikes. You’ll probably see a bit of this bike online today …
Nukeproof’s brand manager Ali Becket made no bones about what the bike is all about “we’ve made the new Pulse to win as many World Cup races as we can”. Not a bad ambition for a bike that has already raced to a fair few podiums. He told us that the bike is an “evolution” and that the plan was to “take the platform that we’ve got with the original Pulse and evolve it into as fast, reliable and robust a bike as we can do.”
Today’s launch didn’t share too much of the detail …. but Ali claims the bike is lighter, longer and slacker than before but is based around the same suspension platform as the Pulse you can buy today. More info will be out around Eurobike time and the bike will be available to buy in early 2016. We’re looking forward to the next round of info that Nukeproof drop where we here the price and the final spec.
