Other than the Fort William World Cup, the British National Championships is the biggest UK race of the year. Revolution Bike Park hosts the 2016 event organised by Borderline Events in partnership with Leighton Vans.
If you turn your mind to the strength in depth of UK downill racing, there must be upwards of 15 riders that can win this race and a World Cup in the Elite Male field. The ladies’ race will be as strongly contested, with our top three ladies all sporting medals on the World stage in recent years.
Here’s the full details on the 2016 event:

So here we are – It’s that time of year when we look towards the most prestigious event on the domestic UK calendar. As most of you should now be aware we are heading to Revolution Bike Park and the date will be the 16th & 17th July 2016.
For 2016 we would like to welcome our new partner. ‘The British Cycling National Downhill Championships presented by Leighton Vans’. Leighton Vans are a Sheffield based VW Transporter specialist who take stock of VW Transporter Panel and Kombi T5’s & T6’s and create unique, high specification vans for those who want the best.
Since our first National Champs at Ae Forest in 2010 the team at Borderline Events has strived to put on the best events at the best venues. Llangollen in 2015 was a highlight for us and considered a great event by everyone involved. We’re excited to visit a new venue on the racing calendar and the Fosters’ of Revolution Bike Park are equally as excited as ourselves.
Tim Foster, Manager of Revolution Bike Park is very pleased indeed “This is a big step for Revolution Bike Park and we’re really excited about racing coming to Revs. We’re really happy to have the Borderline Series coming here in April and the National Champs in July. This is a great opportunity to showcase the tracks we have been building since 2011. We have been asked many times when racing will start at Revs and 2016 is that time”
The uplift will be provided by a combination of both the Revolution BP and Pearce Landrovers and timing once again will be with SportstimingSystems and have the usual speed and split.
For 2016 the entry fee will be £87.00 with free camping.
Entries will go live on the 08th February at 0900 and will be available through our website www.borderline-events.co.uk
Remember Round 1 of the Borderline DH Series presented by Kingud will kick off at Revolution Bike Park over the weekend of 09th & 10th April 2016 and this will be your only chance to race there prior to the National Champs. Entries are also via the Borderline website.
