Taylor Vernon says “cheers butt” to Trek Factory Racing

Trek Factory Racing have announced that Welsh young gun Taylor Vernon will leave the team for 2017.

Taylor Vernon joined Atherton Racing (now Trek Factory Racing) straight out of his Youth year back in 2013. He’d previously ridden for his dad’s shop team and was hand picked by Atherton Racing following some stellar results at the British Downhill Series.

Tay’s career to date has seen some massive ups and downs. His first race with the Atherton family ended with a broken back and a filing cabinet worth of metal installed in his spine to fix the damage.

He followed that by a long recovery and an awesome 7th place at his first ever World Cup in South Africa. He went on to score a heap of killer results in junior, including a win at Windham World Cup.

Graduating to elite was never going to be easy but Tay’s first elite World Cup saw him take 30th in Lourdes and take him on a series of really solid results.

We’re looking forward to seeing where Tay moves to and seeing one of our favourite riders in the UK just keep getting faster. Good luck for 2017, butt!
