News just in, the UK Gravity Enduro Series will return for 2018.
A surprise bit of news for a Friday morning ladies and gents.
Received from once-British Enduro Series organiser Si Paton, the news is that Steve Parr and his partner Liz will run a national Enduro series for 2018.
Steve and co. ran the UK Gravity Enduro Series up until the end of 2015 – hailed as the UK’s ‘National’ enduro series. Si Paton and crew stepped in for 2016 but chose not to run again in 2017, citing issues with sponsors and financial difficulties.
Parr claims that he will keep the same format as previous years. That is “5 rounds nation wide, all with seeding on Saturday and 5 stages on Sunday. Camping will be available from Thursday evening, with open trails on Friday”.
The report also addresses some of the issues faced by riders back in 2015 : “Personal insurance will NOT be required but is highly recommended, helmets must be worn at all times and must be of the full face variety (detachable chin guards must be in place on stages)”.
According to Steve and Si’s announcement dates and venues “will be announced just after the EWS dates are released”.
Entries will go live on Saturday the 3rd of February at 09:00 with places limited to 300 riders on a first come, first served basis. More announcements regarding title sponsor and supporting sponsors will soon follow.
More news when we’ve got it.
