Round 2 of the 2017 Hope/PMBA Enduro Series headed to Lee Quarry and Havok Bike Park for 6 very different stages.
The sun was out for the sortie in and out of Yorkshire from Lancashire, as a packed entry field took to the dusty trail centre rocks of Lee Quarry before diving into the slick woods of Havok Bike Park.

Summer hit Lee Quarry and Havok Bike Park for round 2 of the Hope PMBA Enduro Series. A record entry for this round as 380 people had signed up for the 4th running of this unique enduro. Based at Lee Quarry, the 23 mile loop uses the Right of Way network to loop over the moors and link with Havok Bike Park in Todmorden. The result is a very varied set of stages, with trail centre and rock at Lee Quarry for stages 1 and 6, the raw moorland of stage 2, the flow of Facit Woods for stage 3 and the red and black lines at Havok. While close to each other, every stage has a very different character.
Rain may have been forecast but blue skies were out for the racers as they adventured into Yorkshire and back from Lancashire. Scorching times from the U19 and Master category winners showed the speed was there in every category. the senior/open women’s category was smashed by EWS racer Bex Barona despite not practising any of the stages.
