Full details in the press release below.
British Cycling are growing our team of commissaires in 2018. This is your chance to become part of that team.
An assistant MTB DH/4X Commissaire course has been confirmed to take place in the South on 27th January 2018 at Puriton Sports Centre, Bridgewater.
British Cycling rely on a workforce of officials to ensure all events across cycling disciplines are conducted in a fair manner. Commissaires come in all shapes and sizes and if you love cycle racing and have the time to help support the future of racing, becoming an official could be for you.
As the entry point to becoming a commissaire, completing the Assistant MTB DH/4X course puts you on the commissaire pathway to officiate at events throughout the UK. The course blends pre-course online learning with the face to face delivery of a one day course and the opportunity to network with MTB enthusiasts to share your knowledge of the discipline.
Once you have completed the course you will be a fully-fledged Assistant Commissaires. In order to then progress up the pathway, practical experience is gained shadowing others with years of commissaire experience and completing a logbook documenting your ‘field’ learning.
Upon completion you will need to attend 3-6 events depending on the discipline to progress to the regional level.
