What makes these gloves so good? Well, considering more than one of the Wideopenmag test crew have raved about them despite being at opposite ends of the country mean that they work well in almost all winter conditions. Munros have been bagged despite their winter coats, all the way through to chilly days around the woods in Bristol, the Briskers have proven they can master the elements.
The Briskers are light in the hand, and have a thicker cut on the back of the hand than on the palm, meaning you get the ‘bulk’ where you need it and a thin palm for feeling what’s happening out front. Microfibre keeps the palms warm without getting sweaty while keeping everything pretty comfy.
Unlike many winter gloves that sacrifice control in favour of outright warmth, the Briskers do an excellent job of keeping you warm while not losing out on sensitivity.
Fit is excellent as well and all that is aided by the comfort once they’re on your hand and the wrist closure doesn’t dig in no matter how tight you horse it up. Even an over the bars in the snow with the closures open didn’t mean anything found its way inside.
Possibly the only downside is the fact that the Briskers aren’t waterproof. I got around that with a second pair that live in my pack wrapped in something waterproof to keep them dry. There is a Hydromatic model of the Briskers with a waterproof insert but they’re more expensive and we haven’t had a chance to test them.
What do we think?
An excellent winter glove for all conditions that mean you can still ride the way you want to and have warm, dry hands throughout.
Solid construction means that if you look after them, they’ll last forever and they’ll always live in the car so you don’t forget them.
We love:
- Very comfortable.
- Excellent fit.
- Warmth in all conditions.
Could do better:
- A waterproof back would make these the best gloves ever.
