Any downhill rider not in New Zealand for Crankworx was seemingly in Portugal for the third round of their national series in Lousa.
Lured in by the fact that the track in question will form much of what will be used for the Lousa World Cup next year, the lion’s share of European downhillers flocked to Portugal for the third round of their national series.
Commencal/Vallnord were out in force, with Amaury Pierron pipping Danny Hart and Gee Atherton in second and third respectively. Thibaut Daprela took the Junior win with a time that would have beaten Gee, while Myriam Nicole cruised to the win with a 24 second victory in Elite Women.
