The Cannondale Jekyll has a long history of Enduro World Series victories and the updated design builds on that heritage.
Sporting 165mm rear wheel travel and 29″ only gives away the new Cannondale Jekyll’s intentions to continue its big mountain/enduro lineage, but adds a 4-bar high pivot and idler, as well as size-specific kinematics and geometry.
Cannondale’s new Jekyll big mountain/enduro machine is based on their carbon fibre frame and offers 165mm rear wheel travel via a high pivot 4-bar linkage with an idler. There’s no Mullet or 27.5″ option, just 29″ only. The Proportional Response design also has suspension tuned to the frame size, rather than a single setup across the sizes.
The rear shock is sat in a split in the downtube, aiming to get the centre of gravity as low as possible. Whilst it will go up the hills, Cannondale say it’s all about the downs and risking those lines you might otherwise not when you’re on the new Jekyll.
There are two models available the Jekyll 1 and 2. It doesn’t appear that there’s a frame-only option. The Jekyll 1 is £6,500, the Jekyll 2 £4,500.
Geometry
Four sizes are on offer, the usual spread of Small, Medium, Large and XLarge.
On the Medium Jekyll, you get a 450mm reach mated to a 410mm seat tube. Head angle is 64 degrees, with the seat tube angle at 77.5. Chainstays are 435mm on the medium, with a wheelbase of 1227mm.
