Four Brits Crowned Downhill World Champions at Pra Lou Masters Worlds.

Pra Loup hosted the Masters Downhill World Championships this weekend and Brits occupied the top steps in four categories. Hopefully a medal haul their younger counterparts can emulate in Val di Sole next weekend.

Few, if any, Brits were out for the Masters Cross Country World Champs.

Em Horridge

One of the many fast Brits to have taken up residence in the French Alps, Emily Horridge’s win was the most emphatic of the four titles bagged this weekend, with a 21.58 second winning margin over Charlotte Carouee in the 40-44 category. Rainbow stripes forever baby.

Will Longden

Madison Saracen’s team manager is no slouch on a bike. Will Longden had a solid battle with 4X World Cup winner Guido Tschugg but came out on top by 0.65 seconds. He even almost managed to look happy about it too… Your 45-49 Masters Downhill World Champion ladies and gentlemen.

Al Maclennan

King of the Fort William World Cup track, Al Maclennan adds a fourth Rainbow Jersey to his collection, having bagged the 40-45 stripes at Sun Peaks in 2005, then the 45-49 win in 2009 at the same venue, before taking the win in Hafjell in 2014 in the 50-54 category.

Jams Hughes

James Hughes saw off fellow Brit and downhill’s tallest man Dave List to take the 40-45 Masters win, backing up a raft of podiums at British downhill and enduro events this year.
