The legend that is the Intense M1 will return Spring 2024, giving you a chance to ride the same bike as Gwin, Norton and Breeden.
Intense reprise their legendary M1 downhill bike, the stuff of dreams for many a downhill racer, off the back of four years of development with their factory team.
Key features:
- 6061-T6 Aluminum frame
- 203mm travel
- 6-Link High Pivot platform
- Mullet wheels
- Linear and progressive shock mount positions
- External routing
The origins of this bike can be traced back to 2019 and the first M279 prototype, a mixed wheel offering of their then production M29 downhill bike. Four years later, the VPP/JS Tuned link has gone and a 6-link, high pivot design now manages the 203mm available travel.
2022 saw the arrival of the ‘gravy boat’ M279 HP1 that almost immediately saw Gwin and Norton back at the sharp end. The high pivot experiment worked but the team knew that there was more on offer. In came the M279 HP6 bike. A bike adjustable for rider and terrain hit the mark with Norton on the box in Loudenvielle and at the US Open.
So for Intense’s 30 year anniversary, you’ll be able to get your hands on an Intense M1. Full price and specs TBC.
