Italian freerider Torquato Testa published a video ranking female Red Bull Rampage riders’ appearance to unsurprising condemnation.
Industry Nine have severed their connection with Italian freerider Torquato Testa following his video that is now offline that pitted female Red Bull Rampage riders against each other based on their appearance.
Watched by 35,000 people before it was taken down, Torquato Testa’s video titled “La Chica Piu Caliente Del Red Bull Rampage” or “The Hottest Women of Red Bull Rampage”, has been widely met with condemnation and rightly so. We at Wideopenmag condemn this kind of lowest common denominator content.
Testa defended the video, claiming he didn’t mean to offend, more to inform his Italian following of women competing at Red Bull Rampage. He since removed the video. Amid widespread backlash, Industry Nine have opted to end their seven year sponsorship with Testa.
Taking to Instagram stories, Testa also complained that Industry Nine hadn’t spoken to him beforehand, didn’t watch the video and don’t speak Italian, and that a seven year partnership ‘apparently mean nothing’. This is the equivalent of sh*tting the bed, then complaining about having to sleep in a sh*t bed, or to quote Malcolm Tucker, “today you have laid your first big, fat egg of solid f*ck”.
Women finally competed at Rampage this year and it made the event truly interesting. Props to them for going full send when given the opportunity. Women’s riding is at an all time high, and we need to keep it that way.
