North Wales-based coaching outfit Pedal MTB are to offer free coaching to key workers once the lockdown measures have lifted.
If you’re a rider and a key worker based in Wales or the North West, then you should get yourself registered for Pedal MTB’s free coaching sessions scheduled for post-lockdown.

The current COVID-19 pandemic and National lockdown has highlighted to us that not all jobs are equal in the fight against the virus.
Although we have been doing plenty of work in the background, planning new courses and setting up for when we are allowed out again. We have generally felt fairly useless in the effort to help. To that end we have come up with an idea…
We want to say a massive thank you to all those people who have continued to help keep our nation rolling during COVID-19. Whether you are a nurse or paramedic, postal worker or delivery driver, shop assistant or care worker, council worker or police officer, or are slaving away in any other key role. We want to offer you something to look forward to, when we come out the other side of this, because let’s face it you are going to deserve it.
Once the social distancing restrictions have been lifted, we will be offering multiple, free, half-day mountain bike coaching sessions. The sessions will be held at Coed Y Brenin over a full weekend. All key workers involved in the COVID-19 response are eligible to apply. We plan to run a variety of different ability sessions so if you are totally new to mountain biking or a hard charging enduro racer there will be something for you.
If you have worn out your trusted steed riding to and from your key role or simply don’t have an appropriate bike our partners over at Bikes Brenin will be offering free bike hire on selected bikes (availability dependent) for those that need a bike. Our friends from Kingud and Mudhugger will also be providing some spot prizes for people in attendance.
Natural Rescources Wales will also be helping out by allowing free parking for all those in attendance. We are also still in discussion with some of our other sponsors so watch this space for further updates.

How It Will Work
- If you are a key worker, register an interest via this FORM. (We are reliant on your honesty here, if you are not a key worker please do not register for this event).
- Once a date has been set, those that have registered will be contacted by email.
- Coaching slots will then be allocated by Pedal MTB; if demand exceeds our coaching capacity then places will be randomly allocated.
- Turn up, have an awesome time and try and remember what it was like to wear riding glasses for riding, rather than as a form of biohazard protection.
