Tradition dictates that the introduction of a magazine gives self indulgent editors a chance to have a rant about whatever is currently bothering their over-caffeined brains. It’s a nice little touch to flatter their egos and make them feel important.
Not being ones to piss on tradition, Wideopen allows me (your self indulgent editor) the chance to have such a rant on the inside page of every issue. Rather than the usual chatter about the weather or apologies for how late the issue is I took a bit of inspiration for issue 14 from Mike Skinner and The Streets. In particular, I homed in on Mike’s lyric “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the fight in the dog”.
In case you weren’t clear what I was harping on about – here’s the intro and the Streets track I’m referencing. I still feel bad for saying it’s a “bit Linkin Park” but oh well.
