Marc Beaumont wins Rd1 of the Halo British Downhill Series

It was a wet and wild day at Nant Gwytheyrn yesterday for round 1 of the Halo British Downhill Series!

Marc Beaumont didn’t waste any time defending his 2010 title and stomped out a win. His winter Land’s End to John O’ Groats mission obviously paid off on the flat, muddy pedal fest to the finish! Wild card Al Bond took a surprise second place with Peaty landing in third after a wobble in sight of the line.

BEAUMONT Marc GT Bikes                                 42.86 -1 01:28.1 -1 02:16.7
BOND Alex Team Skene                                        39.72 -22 01:28.4 -3 02:20.9 00:04.2
PEAT Steve Santa Cruz Syndicate                    39.87 -20 01:28.1 -2 02:22.4 00:05.7

For the ladies it was Manon Carpenter on the top step – no doubt making new sponsors Saracen pretty happy indeed. Ffion Griffiths and Jess Stone followed her down.
