Spotted at this weekend’s UK Gravity Enduro – it’s the new Orange Bikes Alpine prototype.
The Alpine is Orange’s 160mm ‘do it all’ trail bike – designed for big mountain stuff that requires a bit of pedalling but still plenty of travel to get you down in one piece.
The new prototype offers adjustable geometry and the choice between a slacker more ‘downhill’ set up and a more upright more ‘trail’ ride. We’ve always liked the Alpine but felt that it was just a bit too much bike to warrant choosing it over the super versatile Five. Fingers crossed that this new proto will give the Alpine a bit more versatility as an all round trail bike.
Adding to that – rumour has it that the weight is also now significantly reduced – bringing the Alpine much closer to the weight of the Five.
More when we’ve got it!
