This weekend is the National DH Champs at Inners. Here’s the inside info from Mr Mike Marsden…
The time is now upon us and this weekend sees the 2014 British Cycling National Downhill Championships presented by Seven iDP
The race venue is Innerleithen (EH44 6PW) and this weekend sees all the UK’s top riders descend on Innerleithen for the event of the year.  This is British Cycling’s top event of the year and a must for every rider and a must if you’re a spectator.
Spectators: Spectating is free, parking is £3 per car per day for non-racers and absolutely everyone is welcome. If you’re a spectator come along and cheer on the riders.
Racers: If you’re a racer and have a BC licence then you must must remember to bring your valid BC licence along to sign-on. Everything else was sent to you last week.
Photographers / Videographers:Â If you want to take photos or shoot video then you should come and register in the sign on tent when you arrive.
Marshalls: Marshall briefing is 0730 on Saturday and 0715 on Sunday. If you have put your name down then we will meet in the sign on tent and you should bring with you warm clothes, waterproofs, sturdy shoes and additional fluids and food if you like to pig out. We will provide you with lunch, marshal vest, whistle, flags, radio and the necessary information before you go up the hill. The briefing will last approx. 10 minutes and after that point we will assign you to a Marshall position.

Friday:

1400 – > Course open for foot inspection
1600 – 1900 – Registration
(Please note that there is no riding of the track until official practice starts on Saturday morning)
Saturday:
0730 – Marshall Briefing
0800 – 1100 – Registration
0800 – Riders released from car park
0830 – Uplift loading begins
1645 – Last rider leaves car park
1715 – Last coach leaves base
1800 – Course closed
1815 – Rider briefing
Sunday:
0715 – Marshall Briefing
0730 – Riders released from car park
0800 – Uplift loading begins
1000 – Training uplift ends
1100 – Seeding starts
1400 – Racing starts
1700 – Racing ends
1730 – Presentations
