Following the news that British Cycling (still) won’t back enduro, this just landed from Steve Parr at UK Gravity Enduro:
“A helmet with either a fixed or removable chin piece will be mandatory on all stages, Saturday and Sunday, at UKGE.”
Further to that, the usual rule about it remaining on your head and done up on all stages otherwise it’s a DQ.
Just the other day we had a Bell Super 2r land, with a removable chin piece.. it looks pretty handy but we’ll let you know with a full test very soon – this could be the lid to suit both XC and now, enduro racing.
What would define a ‘removable chin piece’? As we know – there isn’t one on the market yet with the same strength as a standard downhill full face. So where do we draw the line? An old school MET Parachute?
