Thanks for everything Jay Williamson

The new year means a new Wideopenmag race team … and we’re starting off with a huge thanks and farewell message to Jay Williamson. Jay will be moving on from Team Wideopenmag for 2015.

Jay joined the team in 2012 for his first year of Expert racing at the British Downhill Series. He absolutely killed it and moved quickly up to elite where he joined Rich Thomas in the big league at World Cups and British Downhill Series. He’s scored heaps of great results, created loads of great media and been a great ambassador for the mag – he’s genuinely an amazing bike rider, one of the most determined people we’ve ever met and is a top bloke.

We’re sorry to see him go but excited to see what the future holds for him. We’re 100% sure that means World Cup success and lots of fun, adventure and racing throughout the World.

Jay hasn’t quite announced his plans for this year yet – so we can’t say where he’s moving on to – but we can say he won’t be a stranger to Wideopenmag. He’ll continue to send us stories from his adventures and we’ll be working on some media projects with him throughout the year. He’s also working hard with fitness expert Andy Dockrell at Hutton Moor leisure centre in Weston Super Mare to hit the season in amazing shape. So far, so good.

So – for now – thanks for everything Jay! Good luck for 2015!
