Round 5 of the Rose Bikes British Downhill Series and we’re back to Farmer Jacks at Moelfre!
The British Downhill Series last visited Moelfre in 2013 for National Champs. After a year off we’re back in the Athertons back yard on the track they originally dug to train for flat out, high speed World Cup tracks. The trail is a slight mix-up of the original (well … not the very original but you know what I mean!) Moelfre track with some big new jumps and some wild, loose, deep corners.
There’s a few ‘stories’ from this weekend – the main one is that a lot of the elites aren’t here. There’s no Athertons, Danny Hart, Bryceland, Peaty, Brendan … A lot of rider are out at Crankworks L2A racing a higher profile event. With a few big dogs missing the field is … Wideopen.
