One-Up Components have forged a path upgrading our drivetrains, it seems like only yesterday we were bodging double rings and 1×10 was just a pipedream. Since then narrow wides and larger sprockets have meant we can pedal up hills, descend without the chain falling off (most of the time), all without draggy chain devices.
One-Up think the chain device still has a part to play though, especially in race situations. So here’s their design, you can fit it with the cranks on and adjustment looks pretty simple. We’re gonna give it a go, along with the oval ring and see what happens.
It retails for $45 and is available now at www.oneupcomponents.com – we’ll let you know how it goes in a couple of months!
