Wow – big news for Orange bikes of Halifax as owners Lester Noble and Steve Wade step aside.
From 1st October 2015 Orange Mountain Bikes will have a new owner, Ashley Ball.
It’s easy to assuming that a rock-solid stalwart of British mountain biking like Orange wouldn’t make a big leap but – leap they have. Effective from the 1st October 2015 the company will now be run by new owner Ashley Ball.
It seems that Orange has been looking to change ownership for some time and having weighed up the field they felt that Ashley was the man for the job. Ashley is no stranger to Orange – he’s the man behind Bairstows Sheet Metal – the company that produces that sheets that the bikes are made from. Having done well in that business and being close to Orange already he was – we’re told – the man for the job.
“We’ve been looking a for suitor to carry on the work we’ve done with Orange Bikes, and we did not want to go down the ‘Big Corporate Buyout’ route as so many others have done, it’s just not the Orange way. When Ashley made it clear to us he would like to take over at Orange, we quickly realised our search was over and began negotiating the details that these things always involve.” Lester Noble
We’re excited to see what’s next for Orange. They’re a name that’s known for steady evolution and building strong roots. It’s clearly an exciting time for them.
