Praxis Works Launch New Carbon Crank at Taipei Show.

Straight from the Taipei Cycle Show comes these all-new Praxis Works Lyft cranks. Full-carbon arms, a neat adjustable preload bearing system and direct mount rings are echoes of the Race Face SIXC offerings.

These new Lyft cranks don’t have an official weight as yet, but Praxis’ top dog Adam Haverstock is confident they’ll be lighter than their main rival, the RF SIXC, making them the lightest on the market. As we well know, super light carbon cranks are unlikely to be cheap though UK RRP has yet to be confirmed.Praxis Works Lyft Carbon Crank Mountain Biking Taipei Cycle Show

As mentioned above, the arms are full-carbon numbers, meaning no metal insert adding strength but also upping the weight. The Lyft cranks will be available in 170 or 175mm and offer a 3-bolt mount, differing to RaceFace’s splined, threaded ring mount. 1 x setups will need to be run with a clutch derailleur, indicating a lack of ‘narrow-wide’ tooth rings. Speaking of rings, sizes will increase in twos from 26 to 36. Axles are 30mm offerings, coming in the usual BSA (68/73mm), BB90/92, BB30 or PF30 bottom bracket configurations.

On top of these featherweight carbon Lyft cranks, an ‘HD’ version for downhill use or for heavier riders are also in development.

We’ll update you with more details as they become available. UK stock is due in the summer.
