Enduro World Series stow away, Wicklow Ireland – day 3

Nikki EWS

Wow – what a day! The sun has been blasting out Irish gold and the trails are on fire. Day three of my stow away Enduro World Series adventure to Ireland has been the best yet.

Day 3 of the Enduro World Series here in Wicklow was the final session of practice before the main event. The big stage to master was number 7 – a beauty of a trail with a steep, gnarly, rocky top section and then miles of flowy singletrack. The sting in the tail of an otherwise straight forward trail was the crowd of drunk heckling Irishmen stood trackside giving the riders some encouragement. If the rocks didn’t put you off,  the craic certainly would!

With Martin Maes, Jerome Clementz, Rene Wildhaber and Richie Rude on the hill the top spot could be anyone’s. Rude is the favourite with two previous EWS wins in the tank but throw in shit luck and it could go to any one of another ten hungry riders.  In the women’s it’ll be a battle between Cecile Ravanel and Tracey Moseley who is competing in her first EWS of 2016. With two wins for Cecile it’ll be a great fight to watch.
