The guys over at Stif have designed and launched their first bike with the input of Brant Richards. Unsurprisingly, it’s an aggressive, steel hardtail built around a short stem and wide bars.
The Morf, fresh out of the Stif stable, is designed to do what every good bike should do. Whether it’s smashing the climbs or going after the sound barrier on the downs, this new Brant Richards-inspired hardtail. We’re looking forward to swinging a leg over one to see if steel is indeed, still real.
Frames are available at ยฃ499.99, or the full bike, seen here is ยฃ1,999.99. Head over to Stif’s page for full spec and geometry details.
Here’s the full press release from the lads and ladies over at Stif:
Designed from the ground up to offer a riding sensation both climbing and descending like no other. Meet the Morf.
Progressive geometry based around a bespoke 4130 chromoly tube set and 27.5โ wheels, offering superior strength on the sections where you want to let it all out and smooth compliance on those trickier sections where traction is scarce.
Designed around a 35mm stem, the slack (but not too slack) 65-degree head angle combined with the shorts stays and long top tube makes it super agile and fun, giving you a perfect riding position to attack any terrain with the confidence of a full suspension rig.
These features combined with a stout 130mm travel fork, keeps perfect balance and shape allowing you to ride on the front of the bike, boosting grip and confidence. Rail those turns and conquer the steeps.
The Morf excels uphill too with a steep seat tube placing you in an efficient forward pedalling position, even on the most technical climbs. The custom flattened rear stays offer tuned compliance creating better traction over anything from rocks and roots to loam and dust.
Proven enduro winning race credentials under Stif staff rider, Matt Wight, the prototype Morf bike won the 2015 โArd Rock Enduro Sports Class recording the overall fastest stage time of the day, as well as podiums at the Welsh Gravity Enduro Series and Red Kite Enduro Series.
Produced in conjunction with legendary frame designer Brant Richards, we have used 30 years unrivalled MTB experience to build a bike you can ride anywhere and totally depend on.
Whether itโs a quick blast down your local trail, taking on your fully suspended mates at an enduro race or an all-day moorland epic, the Morf is ready for it.
