Dainese burst onto the scene with pretty much the only decent body armour going back in the late 90s.
Much has changed for this massive Italian brand, and our man Sam Fowler (from Pedal Progression, Bristol) has been putting their latest enduro kit through it’s paces.
First out of the gate is the Trailtec Jersey. £59.99 might seem steep for a 3/4 sleeve top, but this one has been done right. Find out what Sam made of it below.
- £59.99.
- 6 sizes (XS to XXL).

This jersey from Italian pronunciation challengers Dainese is a good looking and tasteful blend of style and comfort. It’s available in two other popular colours, black/grey and blue/light blue so you can easily coordinate your wardrobe.
There are two different fabrics in the mix with 3d mesh front, side and back panels and a tighter fitting, silky feeling technical fabric for the ¾ length arms. These combine to provide great airflow where you need it and comfortable, flap free sleeves which make you feel like you’re ready for wind tunnel testing.
You’ll need to size up as the fit is classic Italian and the lightweight sleeves don’t have much stretch to them. The size guide on the website is accurate though which is handy in this age of buy-before-you-try. Some may find these halfway house length sleeves a deal breaker but it’s a great compromise and means you don’t have to roll them up when it gets hot.
Overall, a very high quality feeling jersey with an exceptionally well refined cut. You’ll find no excess material here and it’s all very comfortable and chafe free – exactly what you expect from a top end jersey.
Overall 10/10, 5 stars, mega.
