2017 Mini Enduro dates and venues … and eBikes!

Mini Enduro news for a chilly Tuesday morning ladies and gents.

It looks like the Mini Enduro Series is now sponsored by … unusually, an eBike brand.

Yep, eBike manufacturer Haibike have taken the title spot of the series (replacing 661) and are supporting the events as title sponsor for the next 5 years.

It’s the first time, that we know of anyway, that an eBike brand has sponsored a non-eBike specific series. Like it or not, the eMTBs are pushing hard to get their name in front of you.

The series will host a special eBike stage and category at each event, designed to test eBikes and their riders with its podium and prizes. Chris Roberts explained that the eBike stage will be an uphill course with steep, technical climbs. Human-powered bike riders (meBike?) are allowed to race the eBike stages and will get given a time but it won’t count towards their results.

eBikes aside – the Mini Enduro is a great event to get stuck into. It’s great for first time racers as its a one-day venue, the hills are pretty modest (though Bike Park Wales is a tough climb!) and nothing is super-technical. It’s equally good for folks with some decent experience that just want a chilled, fun day out with a timed result at the end of it. It gets our thumbs up.

The dates for the 4 race, 3 venue 2017 Mini Enduro series are:

4th March 17: Bike Park Wales
30th April 17: Forest of Dean
22th October 17: Forest of Dean
18th November 17: Coed Llandegla

Entries for the series are now open at the Mini Enduro website.

Racers from as young as 13 can compete and – you guessed it – riders on eBikes and meBikes are welcome.
