The Night Harvest Returns to Cape Town!

Calling all our South African friends! The Night Harvest is kicking off in Cape Town for its 5th year at the end of February!

Summer jams are what make the long, sunny days and The Night Harvest looks to make the most of the short darkness too for its 5th year this February.

Africa’s biggest MTB & BMX dirt jump competition returns to Cape Town! The Night Harvest is back for it’s 5th year and every year the news spreads overseas and more of the world’s top riders flock to the Cape, making this the most fun and spectacular event of the year!

The Night Harvest started as a locals-only jam at one of the most beautiful set of jumps, Potato Trails in Hout Bay. Word of this unique event held at night with the trails lit up quickly spread and a few international riders made it out to see what the fuss was about. They enjoyed themselves so much that they brought more friends the next year. Since then every year the list of international riders grows and it has now become a full scale international event.

Perfectly manicured dirt jumps surrounded by mountains with the best riders the world has to offer throwing down for your pleasure, with more of a jam and party vibe than a serious competition. This format makes it more relaxed for the riders, but that doesn’t slow down the amplitude of spectacular stunts!

The evening starts off with a warm up jam for everyone to get used to the trails, then moves on to the BMX & MTB runs. The top riders make it through to finals and that’s where the boys reach into their bags to pull out their biggest tricks!

That is followed by a best trick comp on the massive trick jump where riders get more air and can go even more crazy to try impress the judges with their wildest tricks. This year also sees the start of a new addition to the evening, the Spank SA Whip Champs, where riders can see who can throw their bike the most sideways and still manage to bring it back.

This is one not to miss, so make sure to head to Potato Trails in Hout Bay for the madness on the 24th February! Full event details can be found on the event Facebook page here.
