The life of an EWS pro is surely one of the most enviable going in mountain biking – racing incredible trails in diverse locations, getting to travel the globe and all the perks of being a rider paid to ride a bike.
Yet, behind all of this are the “hard yards” required to operate at the sharp end of the field, and ultimately keep yourself in employment.
Katy Winton is a former Scottish XC racer turned EWS competitor racing for the legendary Trek Factory Racing team – she has the aforementioned life that many aspire too, yet she knows a thing or two about putting in the “graft”.
Hailing from the beautiful, but rugged Scottish Borders, Katy has spent the lions share of winter at home in the Scottish Borders getting ready for 2017 in the only way she knows how: full commitment and a burning desire to make the most of her opportunities.
