The new Transition TR11 carbon downhill bike is here

Way back at Fort William World Cup we told you guys about the prototype Transition TR11 downhill bike.

Three months later and the bike is now out of its prototype stage and listed as a proper, you-can-order-one model in the Transition range.

Let’s take a quick look at the bike’s important bits:

It’s goes up to 11

Transition have teamed up with expert filmaker Skye Schillhammer to tell the story of the bike in this epic shredumentary.

If you do nothing else today, hit play and learn how the bike can now go all the way up to 11. According to Transition “Most bikes only go up to 10. These go to 11. It’s 1 faster”.

Designed for going down mountains.

Designed for “going down mountains” (says Transition) the bike is built for 27.5″ wheels and around 195mm (7.6 inch) of rear travel.

It uses Transition’s Giddy Up trail bike suspension platform which “provides supreme grip, excellent mid stroke support and plenty end stroke ramp to prevent harsh bottom out when hucked to flat”.

There’s loads of little details that show Transitions usual attention to detail:

The fine details:

  • Full Carbon Front Triangle, Chainstay and Seatstay
  • Aluminum Rocker
  • Molded Rubber Chainstay and Downtube Protection
  • External Cable Routing
  • Enduro MAX Bearings
  • Collet Style Main Pivot Hardware
  • Universal Transition Derailleur Hanger, compatible with Giddy Up trail models

The geometry looks good …

The geometry isn’t crazy but hits some pretty decent numbers. 63d head angle is pretty spot on, 453 reach on a large is roomy without being long, 435 chain stay should keep things fun.
