Team Wideopen’s Morgan Tyrrell takes the Welsh Champs title

Great news! Team Wideopen’s Morgan Tyrrell just won the Welsh National Downhill Championships title.

Morgan Tyrrell is our 2nd year Youth downhill racer – he’s been with us since he moved up from Juvenile and is getting faster and faster with every race.

Morgan wasn’t sure he’d even race Welsh Champs. He crashed at an IXS race last month and suffered a concussion, sitting out of the next couple of races on the orders of Coach Ben from MTBStrengthFactory. He took it easy, kept a close eye on his symptoms and decided to step back in for Welsh Champs.

The weekend went well and Morgs went fastest in the Youth field – taking the Welsh Championships title and rounding off a great year. Morgan also won the Youth British National Championships title earlier this summer, at Rhyd y Felin.

@wideopenmag's Youth Legends @morgantyrrell_62 and @chriscumming_dh have been gracing the top steps of the podiums in their races today. Morg's took the Welsh Champs Youth Jersey and Chris was just 0.04 of a second from fastest time of the day at the Irish DH series. Good work lads!
