Big news today as Charlie Hatton and Intense UK announce they’re parting company.
Charlie Hatton has had a hell of a year. He won the British Downhill Series overall, placed 2nd at British National Champs and scored some incredible World Cup results, not least an 11th place at Val Di Sole.
With such a strong year it’s no surprise to see Charlie heading up the ranks and pushing his career onwards and upwards.
From January, Charlie will part ways from Intense UK and move on to a new team.
Charlie started life riding local Forest of Dean races before moving on to our very own Team Wideopenmag. In 2017 Charlie graduated to elite and took a spot on the Intense Cycles UK team.
We can’t say where he’ll go next but we’re sure it’ll be announced in early January and we’ll be all over it here on Wideopen. Stay tuned…
Intense UK are positive about the move and told us:
“Intense Racing UK was set up in 2017 as a platform to prepare racers for the next level of competition. Charlie has been the perfect example of that ethos in our first year.
Thanks to the opportunities afforded by our support and that of our sponsors – Charlie’s hard work has brought in some very well-deserved results. Watching that happen has been incredible for us.
He has a bright future in the sport and we wish him all the best as he progresses to the top of the DH world – he’s one to watch for sure.
The Saddleback team would like to wish Charlie the best of luck for the future and thank him for all his hard work. Thanks are also due to all the sponsors involved in the programme, who have helped greatly in giving all our riders the platform to perform at their best”.
