I’ve had Vee Tire’s Flow Snaps for two months and ridden on them most weeks in all kinds of weathers on my DMR Sled longtermer.
We’ve had damp, wet, raining, frozen and even (to my surprise) dry conditions to give as wide a range of conditions possible for a tyre. Thanks to the great riding we’ve got in the West Country the terrain has always had good variety as well, from hard pack and soft loam.
Great grip
The tyres are super wide for a 2.35″ and whilst sporting a very aggressive tread they remain around the kilogram mark, pretty standard for an aggro, tough tyre.
On the trail I was really pleasantly surprised with them. I vary the pressure according to conditions and they grip well when you’re pushing hard and honestly, I’ve been impressed in all of the conditions I’ve put them through. I’m really yet to find the grip limitations of the Flow Snap.
In the wet, I was super impressed with how quickly they shed dirt. Poor tyres will hold mud in the tread and kill their grip – no problem here. I’ve found that the Snap sare quick to fling off dirt and stay clear top to bottom.
So far, so good
The Vee Flow Snap has really impressed me, especially it’s ability to clear well in the wet.
They feel very durable so far in the time I’ve had them. They hold up well under load and haven’t taken any unwanted damage from rocks. That said, I haven’t had them long enough to experience too much wear yet.
First impressions are good The Flow Snap lives up to the hype by offering good grip and stability in all conditions, while not disintegrating when pushed hard.
The only downside is the usual trade-off in rolling resistance but that’s to be expected of any aggressively treaded tyre.
And a final note on pricing…
- 27.5 x 2.35 Enduro Core £50.00
- 27.5 x 2.35 Gravity Core £54.00
- 29 x 2.35 Enduro Core £50.00
- 27.5 & 29 x 2.6 Dual Ply Synthesis £58.00
What I loved:
- Aggressive tread pattern
- Really decent grip
- Won’t fold when you’re charging hard
Could do better:
- Slow rolling
- Not the lightest around
