Launched today
The old “Enduro-specific” tag is bounded about a lot these days, but with the Halo Vortex, there’s certainly been more than just making them yellow.
The Vortex wheels are designed to take the punishment that a season of racing can deliver.
Combining tough, wide rims and some smart design touches that should create a stiff, strong wheel we’re looking forward to putting some miles through them.

Built with plenty of love
Available from April onwards, the all-new Halo Vortex wheelset have clearly had a lot of thought put into them.
Aluminium has been chosen over carbon for, in Halo’s eyes, its ability to resist larger impacts as well as being “more sustainable than Carbon Fibre counterparts.”
The wheels are asymmetric to create an evenly tension wheel and to, on paper at least, build a tougher and longer lasting wheelset. The design also includes a variable wall thickness which is said to spread forces evenly through spokes.
Rim wells are generous at 33m internal, to create a wide and stable wheel when you’re ploughing rough terrain. To keep the wheels running full of wind, the bead hook is square and thick. With most tubeless flats caused by dented bead hooks, this can only be a good thing.
Hubs and options.
Mated to the rims are the MT hubs, the rear being the Supadrive 3 degree engagement hubs, with another MT unit out front.
Flange width is as wide as it can be for maximum wheel strength and stiffness. Boost and ‘traditional’ widths are available, with Hyperglide and XD drivers. All adaptors will be available to convert wheels to and from different frames and forks.
The MT Supadrive rear comes with a new pawl design that is designed to stand up to increased torque by making the surface engagement area much larger. This is combined with a heat treated steel axle for maximum stiffness and power transfer.
And stickers. Because everyone loves stickers.
A nice touch is that the Halo Vortex comes un-stickered with stealth black etched graphics. On ordering you can choose one of 6 colours. You can leave them un-stickered or you can apply decals and colour match to your bike.
