Vaea Verbeeck kept things tidy through the redwood stumps to pip Queen of Crankworx contender Casey Brown to the win, with your 2017 Queen Jill Kintner sitting in third. The chase for the title is now wide open, so expect to see the lead in the points change hands through this year’s festival.
It was Norco’s Sam Blenkinsop who’d cross the line fastest despite the best efforts from flying compatriots Brook MacDonald, Matt Walker and George Brannigan, as well as Keegan Wright charging on his trail bike.
