Saracen have teased us with some details of the new Myst downhill bike that Danny Hart, Matt Walker and Alex Marin will be racing on this weekend.
Don’t expect to see this team-developed Myst on the shelves any time soon but do expect to see the Madison Saracen lads charging hard on them at the opening round of the 2018 UCI Downhill World Cup this weekend in Losinj, Croatia.
Details may well be thin on the ground about the new Saracen Myst, but there’s a few things we do know.
What we do know is that the new Myst has been redesigned from the ground up with 27.5″ and 29″ wheeled versions, to give the team riders the choice on any given track.
The frame retains the classic Myst look, despite redesign, but sports an updated linkage to give a different spring curve.
Rear spacing jumps to 157mm to accommodate custom dropouts that allow wheelbase adjustment, again, allowing the riders to fine tune the bike to the track they’re faced with.
Will Longden, Madison Saracen manager said “It’s been great to be part of this project, which initially started with developing a 29er and ended up with two fantastic new bikes, that are born out of the proven Saracen Myst pedigree and all the knowledge and feedback from years of World Cup racing. I can’t wait to get stuck into the race season now and see where the riders can take these bikes.”
