SRAM Trickle 12-speed Eagle Down to Their NX Groupset.

SRAM have announced today that their entry-level groupset, NX, will get the 12-speed Eagle treatment, available from September onwards.

It was bound to happen at some point, with all the higher tier SRAM MTB offerings running the Eagle setup, but SRAM have announced that their NX entry-level groupset will get the 12-speed treatment.

While groupset announcements might well not be the most exciting thing ever, any 1 x enthusiast with finite bank balance will rejoice at 12-speed filtering down to the NX groupset.

Changes aren’t massive as you’d expect with NX being a fairly new groupset in any guise, but the usual tweaks to accept the larger cassette ranges and move further across them.

On top of the aftermarket kit, expect to see a whole host of cheaper 2019 bikes that would otherwise have been 1 x 11, rocking SRAM Eagle.

For racers and adventurers, in fact, everyone, the 12-speed upgrade means that NX is compatible with all other SRAM MTB offerings. Smash an XX1 mech, chainring or snap a chain, you can sling an NX equivalent on there to get you home.

Complete NX Eagle 12-speed groupsets will be available from September 2018 onwards for £365 RRP, including rear derailleur, trigger shifter and clamp, crankset, chain 126 links and cassette 11-50t.

Individual parts will also be available from September with the chainset and mech costing £104 and £106 respectively, a cassette wills set you back £99, a chain £26 and the shifter £34.

Full details on the new SRAM NX Eagle groupset can be found on SRAM’s website.
