This week is theMega Avalanche at Alp D’Huez. Hundreds of racers will mass start from 3300m and barrel for an hour down into the valley floor.
The first big challenge of the Mega Avalanche race is the snow and the glacier – a big, tough, scary gauntlet in its own right. Last year saw the snow section removed from the main race due to high winds on the summit of the mountain, but, the weather is looking good this year and we’re all set for a full track.
Here’s our guide – presented by Wideopen’s Rich Thomas on racing the snow at the Mega Avalanche. Good luck!
