What an end to an already amazing season. Both Elite World Champions were looking to find their form after injury and made it count when it mattered most.
Both Rachel Atherton and Loic Bruni get to wear the stripes for another year. This was Atherton’s fifth Elite title and Bruni’s third. Catch their winning runs below.
Bruni
A run of pure French controlled aggression, there wasn’t anything wrong with Bruni’s run and he pipped Belgian Martin Maes by a whisker. 0.213 of a second may not sound like much, but it was all Bruni needed.
Atherton
While Loic Bruni’s run was silky smooth, it’s pretty obvious early on that Rachel Atherton was truly living the World’s mantra of the ‘one run’. Super aggressive from the off, before a serious wobble at the first fire road.
A wobble didn’t matter though as she had 9.9 seconds to play with at the bottom of the hill.
