Vali Hoell winning the Junior Women’s downhill World Cup is no surprise, but what might have passed many by was she was fastest woman in France.
Vali Hoell set a time of 3:26.218 putting her comfortably in the lead in the Junior Women’s finals in Les Gets on a track that required full commitment but also a serious dollop of precision and an ability to adapt to changing track conditions.
While most downhill fans concentrate on the Elite victories, we should definitely be paying more attention to the Junior World Champion in future as her winning time was also faster than Tracey Hannah’s winning run by 1.4 seconds.
