British Cycling Announce Their Downhill Squad to Head to Leogang.

British Cycling have announced a 19-rider team to head to Leogang in October for the 2020 UCI Downhill World Championships.

Earlier in the week, Wideopenmag’s crystal ball correctly predicted the Elite Men’s squad for the World Champs and was only a few Juniors short too… The Elite Women’s team is considerably bigger than we thought it would be with five riders heading to Austria.

Five time World Champion Rachel Atherton returns for her first downhill race since her achilles rupture in Les Gets last summer. Tahnée Seagrave did the same in 2019 and bagged a silver in Mont Saint Anne after returning from injury. Maya Atkinson, Stacey Fisher and Mikayla Parton round out the squad.

Junior Men

Wideopenmag alumni Connor Smith makes the cut for the Junior Men’s squad, joined by GT Factory Racing’s Ethan Craik, James Elliott, Dennis Luffman, Luke Mumford, Dan Slack
and Luke Williamson.
