Saracen Launch Ariel Range and Go Direct to the Customer.

Three different travel options, two wheel sizes and Mullet options, the Ariel fronts up the new 2021 Saracen Bikes range.

The new Saracen Bikes range sees the introduction of an all-new Ariel platform, alongside the World-Cup winning Myst and the Mantra hardtail.

On top of the new Ariel platform, sees a return to all-aluminium frames and Saracen Bikes being sold direct to the consumer. Pricing is very competitive as a result, with the build kits looking like a solid mix, for the most part, of Shimano and DT Swiss (unsurprisingly), as well as Fox and RaceFace.

The new Ariel borrows the multi-link platform from the World Cup-winning Myst combined with a fully redesigned custom-butted 6013 aluminium frame. Each linkage has been tweaked to suit shorter travel applications, namely 180, 160 and 130 for the Ariel 80, Ariel 60 and Ariel 30 models. The Ariel 80 is an out and out park machine coming in 27.5″ only, while the shorter travel models come in Mullet in the Small and Medium sizes, and full 29″ for the L and XLs. All builds are Shimano and Fox-heavy, with RaceFace and DT Swiss kit.

With the Ariel 80, you get a hard-hitting, all-alloy 180mm 27.5″ bike that will do a solid job of any big day in the mountains, be it bike park or even a big mountain enduro. Two models are available, the Ariel 80 and the Ariel 80 Pro, coming in at £2,399.99 and £3,299.99. On the size medium you get a 460mm reach with a miniscule 360mm seat tube, a 438mm chainstay and a 1236mm wheelbase. Head angle is 63.5 degrees, combined with a 76.5 degree seat tube.

As above, you get 160mm travel with the Ariel 60 but wheel size options mixing things up depending on size. Mullet for the smaller two sizes and 29″ for the upper two. The 60 is designed for your enduro needs, again in custom-butted 6013 aluminium. Three models make up this part of the range, with the Ariel 60 at £2,499.99, Ariel 60 Pro at £3,299.99 and the Ariel 60 Elite at £4,199.99. 480mm reach on the medium is combined with a 410mm seat tube, 64.6 degree head angle with a 76.5 degree seat tube, a 440mm seat stay making a 1247mm wheelbase.

TLD A3 Helmet

With the Ariel 30, you get two models, the 30 and the 30 Pro, with pricing £2,199.99 and £2,999.99 respectively. 130mm travel and the same Mullet or 29″ options depending on size like the 160. 480mm reach on the medium is combined with a 410mm seat tube, but with a 65 degree head angle and 76.5 on the seat tube. Chainstays are at 400mm with a 1239mm wheelbase.

In effect, the new Ariel line-up does away with the Kili Flyer with the Ariel 30 and bridges the gap between the outgoing Ariel and the Myst. It’s safe to say that the 2021 Saracen range is the most complete it has ever been.
