Specialized 2FO DH Shoe | Everything You Need to Know.

With assistance from the likes of Bruni and Iles, Specialized have updated the 2FO range with a revised DH-specific model.

Following on from the launch of the 2FO Roost shoe, Specialized have launched their downhill-specific 2FO shoe, with a little help from the Specialized Gravity Republic.

The new Specialized 2FO DH takes all the various developments from the rest of the ever-popular 2FO range and blends them together with healthy dose of World Cup-winning expertise.

Key features:

  • SlipNot™ ST rubber sole
  • XPEL™ hydrophobic mesh construction
  • Leather and textile upper
  • Cushioned EVA foam midsole
  • Relaxed Fit
  • 395.9g (pair)
  • £145.00 RRP

The new Specialized 2FO DH is based around the updated 2FO and the third generation SlipNot rubber outer sole, which Ben definitely approved of in his latest three-shoe shootout, “the latest 2FO feel like they take most of the previous versions best bits and then take the sole to the next level, and, dare I say it, into the realms of 5.10’s secret rubber compound of F1 tyres mixed with unicorn tears.”

We’d expect then the new 2FO DH to be a slightly burlier offering than the 2FO Roost and going by the official release it certainly sounds that way. To kick things off, the 2FO DH comes with increased toe box protection, designed to protect your little piggies from stumps and rocks. There’s also an interior an mid-cuff for additional protection too.

The upper is constructed of polyurethane leather, combined with Specialized’s XPEL mesh designed to lower weight and improve the rate at which the shoe dries. You also get a stiffer centre inner sole. This stiffness doesn’t run the full length of the shoe however as you get a flexible heel and toe for walking comfort.

Both flat and clip versions of the new 2FO DH are available, the clips coming in black/red only, the flats in black/grey. Both are available now and will cost £145.00 a pair.
