Off the back of revamping how they get their bikes into the wider world, and releasing a revised Stamina offering, Pole Bicycles have launched their first ebike, the Voima. Voima means ‘power’ in Finnish, in case you were wondering.
This 7075-T6 bonded frame features an integrated battery and motor, as well as a hefty 190mm travel, combined with Pole’s usual modern geometry and suspension kinematics. The Voima’s SENSEI suspension is a falling rate (i.e. progressive) design, that offers -100% anti-squat across the gear range when run with a 32t chain ring.
Power is provided by way of a Brose S Mag motor, offering up 90Nm torque and is mated to a 725Wh BMZ V10 battery. Pole chose the Brose motor over the rest of the motor options as they preferred the way it delivers the 90Nm torque available.
Speaking of production, Pole have dropped their deposits to 200 €, which essentially secures you a production slot, rather than paying for a percentage of the bike’s overall value. Complete bikes look to come in around the 23.5-25Kg mark, depending on builds.
As it stands, the Voima will only be available as a frame-only option for now, with complete builds landing later in the year. K2 and K3 sizes will also take precedent in the opening run. Production is due to begin in Autumn, with only K2 and K3 framesets available on a limited basis.
Framesets will cost an introduction price of 5490 € and complete builds coming in at 8490 €, and will arrive in early 2022. The after the introductory price, framesets will be 5990 € and complete builds will be 8990 €.
Geometry
It was never going to be run-of-the-mill numbers for the Pole Voima, was it?
Sizes run from K1 to K4, with even the K1 being the same sizes as most medium size bikes.
On the K2, you get a reach of 480mm mated to a 420mm seat tube that sits at a steep 80 degrees. Head tube angle is 63.5 degrees. Chainstays are unsurprisingly long at 455mm, on a wheelbase of 1313.
