With a redesigned main pivot and eccentric dropouts, as well as a new layout of the Jack Drive, it’s fair to say that the Starling Sturn V2 is a unique vehicle. Sporting 200mm of rear wheel travel via a high pivot, the chain forces are dealt with by the Jack Drive to keep things running sweet. The single speed also means you’ve no real issues with chainline or changing suspension performance. With the Sturn, it’s all about the suspension performance.
Unsurprisingly, the Sturn V2 is hand-made in Bristol by the Starling Cycles team out of heat treated Reynolds 853 steel. Geometry is almost fully custom for every order and size, though the head angle is suggested at 63 degrees with a 76 degree seat tube angle. Chainstays are 450mm on the 29″ and 440mm on the MX and 27.5″.
Frames start at £2,990.00 with standard paint, with shocks kicking off from £705.00. Current lead time on frames is 24 weeks.
