Borrowing the linkage design from the M29 downhill bike, the Tracer 297 is designed to be a serious enduro race machine.
You might recognise the layout of the new Tracer 279 from Intense as something similar to what Isabeau Cordurier raced and won on in 2019. Three years later and the production version is out.
You get 170mm travel, Mullet wheels and a full carbon chassis on the redesigned Intense Tracer. That 170mm is delivered via an M29 downhill bike-derived lower link-driven shock and suspension platform.
The all-new Tracer is available in four sizes, Small, Medium, Large and XLarge. The size Medium comes with a 455mm reach on a 418mm seat tube. Head angle in the high setting is 64.5 degrees with the seat angle at 77.9. Chainstays are 437mm on a wheelbase of 1228mm. Geometry is adjustable by a two-position flip chip and the Tracer comes with Intense’s own CHAD frame storage.
Two complete build options are available as well as a frame-only package. The Tracer 279 Expert comes in at £4,799, with the Öhlins spec’d Tracer 279 S at £5,999. The Factory Frame option at £2,799. All bikes and frames will be available from mid-May.
